Environmental Impact Assessment

Environmental impact assessments ensure that the environmental implications of projects are analysed and understood prior to construction.

Environmental assessments offer guidance during the licencing and permitting phase of projects and ensure that the installation, operation and decommissioning of assets doesn’t have significant effects on the environment.

Universally, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promote sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12). Individual states are required to put measures that ensure sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources

Through the Environmental Management and Coordination (Amendment) Act 2015, Kenya has put in place a legal framework to address sustainable environmental management.
